Ragging is an offence under A.P. Prohibition of Ragging Act 1997, punishable by six months to seven years imprisonment. Abettors will also face similar punishment.

NCC & Sports


The N.C.C. unit of this college is more than 40 years old. The college houses one company of 200 cadets attached to the Army Wing. Students are also enrolled in the air and naval units. The N.C.C. training inculcates discipline, leadership, punctuality and obedience as cardinal virtues in its cadets. The unit is headed by an Associate N.C.C. Officer. The College has a Firing Range. This is an institute which sends maximum number of cadets for Basic Leadership Camp and Republic Day Camp, Delhi. The N.C.C. unit of the college was awarded the Best Institution Prize among senior wing institutions in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001. In order to encourage students to join N.C.C. special facilities are provided by the college.


The department trains students in 23 different sports and prepares them for participation in International, National, State and Inter-University competitions. The department has developed good sports fields and other related facilities like gym etc. Specialists in different sports are invited from time to time to give advanced training to our sports persons. Every year the department organizes ‘Sports Day’ and sports persons of repute preside over this function. Physical Education is recognized as an important aspect of women’s education and due encouragement is given to this aspect.
