CBCS Add on Course

UCW has to its credit the honour of being accredited by NAAC with the top grade continuously for three cycles.

UCW sought autonomous status as early as 1989 and ever since strove to provide holistic education to learners. Starting with the introduction of Professional and Allied Courses like Food Science Management, Electronics, Bio Technology, Food & Nutrition, Digital Humanities and Commerce courses with Computers, Taxation and also Honours; UCW moved on to introduce short term courses in Entrepreneurship and is now ready to implement CBCS pattern with effect from the academic year starting 2015-2016. This provides learners a wide scope of choice to choose subjects across disciplines for an overall personality development.

While restructuring the courses to fit into the CBCS pattern, care has been taken to consider local needs placed in a national context so as to fulfil global demands.

As education is not just an accumulation of inert facts nor a narrow approach to subjects; UCW provides application oriented interdisciplinary learning.

Therefore, students pursuing graduation degrees in specific courses are encouraged to imbibe knowledge and skills which enable all round personality development.

Under the CBCS pattern students would graduate with a total number of 148 (136+10+02) credits which includes 10 credits from two Credit Add-On Modular Courses across the semesters wherein the students would be required to choose the Courses from the choices available in the first two semesters.

Structure for CBCS

PLUS ADD ON COURSES

CREDITS: Core 108 + Foundation 28 = 136 Credits
Credits for NSS /NCC/ Sports/ Co curricular – 2 (one credit in each Semester of their choice)
Credits for Add on Foundation Courses - 10 136+10+02=148 Credits
